Vintage Graniteware Canister Old French graniteware canister enameled in a fanciful (raised) dark red “Lustucru” checkerboard design . The canister is about 5¼” tall and 3¼” in diameter. This canister was most likely a 1920s-30s advertising premium given by the French food (pasta) manufacturer, Lustucru. Customers would collect coupons or stamps and exchange them for enameled canisters such as these, with the company’s tell-tale checkered pattern. This canister is in good overall condition with wear on the trim and the lid’s knob, and some dings along the base as shown on photos.
