DUNHILL Red Bark ODA SHS JSC [350] 110 Oversized Dunhill ODA 806 Red Bark apple The 806 is Dunhill's oversized apple, a big but not cumbersome pipe with especially thick walls. This Red Bark, made in 1972, the first year they were available, and sold in '73, is pristine and like new in every regard, typical of all pipes smoked and collected by John Skellchock (see below). A California collector of primarily oversized English high-grades, he acquired his pipes in the 1960s and '70s and was known to smoke and maintain them meticulously. Almost every briar is still like new, with no surface wear, no toothmarks, a glossy stem and a crisp, clean rim. He favored English blends from Drucquer & Sons in Berkeley.
