DESCRIPTION: This is a lot of about 570 old postcards of Pennsylvania from the estates of three life-long collectors. TYPE OF POST CARDS: This lot consists of the following types of cards: * about 2 real photo cards; * over 30 undivided back postcards (pre-1908); * about 98 "older" cards (1907s-20s); * about 120 white border era (1915-30) cards; * around 280 linen era (1930s-50s) cards; and * a mixture of about 39 printed cards (any era possible but appear to be mostly from the 1940s-50s). Views include cities, towns, historic sights (e.g., Philadelphia and Gettysburg) and the like. DUPLICATION: T are two kinds of possible duplication in lots: 1) duplication of subject (e.g., a NY City collector could have 100 different Statue of Liberty cards) and 2) duplication of a specific card (i.e., more than one copy of the same card). Please note before bidding : T are both kinds of duplication in this lot. However, t is a really nice variety as well. SIZE: Standard (approx. 3 ½½" x 5 ½½" ) AGE/ERA: 1905-1950s. CONDITION : The vast majority of cards are in good to very good condition. We try not to let any ugly cards get through, but occasionally, ugly happens. Also, we will occasionally include a card with some damage because we think the image is neat. If this should happen, that card is not included in the overall card count. read more
