One of the few styles of insulators with built in ridges meant to limit fracturing because of projectiles! This interesting piece has vertical pleats that wrap around the bottom of the base to form a sort of sharp drip point. The dome is embossed in a circle - "PAT'D SEP'T 19th 1899" and has just a wire ridge nibble and 2 or 3 scattered light nibbles from being Mint!Twelve inch ruler leaned on display case for reference.
