Description
This attractive antique Chinese export porcelain plate is much larger than common plates from this period. With its 11-inch diameter it makes for a remarkable display piece. The central decoration consists of a large flower basket. Flower baskets are a common decoration during the reign of the Chinese emperor Kangxi (1662-1722). This plate also dates from his reign. The rim is decorated by four large flower panels, which are separated by ornamental bands. A style of decoration still reminiscent of the earlier Kraak wares from the Kangxi era. The plate has a nice light brown rim. Diameter about 11 inches.
