Up for auction is an absolutely gorgeous American Brilliant Cut Glass Footed Vase featuring a stunning combination of Intaglio Engraved cutting and Raised Diamond cut design. The vase stands 8-¼" tall and has a top diameter of 7", center diameter of 8" and a 5" foot. It features 2 medallions set in the center of a wide band of diamond cuts. The medallions protrude with a double step type cutting as a frame around them. Both have an intricately cut bird in the center with scrolls, leaves and flowers around the bird. The bird is perched on a ring of clear tiny puntys or thumbprints. The two birds are in slightly different positions. Very intricate detail in the intaglio cutting. The diamond cutting sparkles with a crystal clarity. They graduate in size smaller near the base to larger at the top. T is a band of leaves and flowers engraved under the rim and near the base under the diamond cutting. The foot is cut with a 32 point starburst. The rim curves outward featuring a rim with tiny pointed teeth on top. T are two small areas w the teeth have tops nicked off. One is just on the edge and the other goes about halfway into the rim. The rest of the piece is perfect, clear with no clouding and no chips or nicks anyw else on the piece.
