Incredible black Lacquer handpainted chinese corner shelf in remarkable condition. Originally purchased many years ago in a antique shop in England. It could be 19th C. It is totally handpainted. It is 10 1/2" long and about 13" wide when opened. Very finely painted in gorgeous various gold shades. It is perfect, no loss of paint or lacquer. Simply a fabulous piece. I am thinking Japanese because it is so well done, Chinese used a lot of mother of pearl in their lacquerward. This is museum quality as far as I am concerned. Would actually look great framed.
