EXQUISITE CARL THIEME DRESDEN RETICULATED CABINET PLATE #11 Wonderful 8 ¼” diameter Carl Thieme Dresden plate features a lovely central floral bouquet surrounded by more than two dozen smaller flowers. The colors are vivid and the detail is stunning, but what really makes this plate stand out is the exquisite border. There are four panels with floral swags “tied“ with gold ribbons at either end, and there are four reticulated panels with individually made, tiny porcelain flowers, as you can see in the close-ups. There are thirty tiny flowers in each panel, twelve of which are gold with the remaining eighteen done in blue. There is an outer reticulated border highlighted in gold. The condition is excellent overall with no chips, cracks, or scratches. The plate is marked as shown, and there is an Ovington import stamp. The mark indicates a late 19th - early 20th century origin and there are minor imperfections that are not due to damage or neglect.
