We have a number of items acquired from a private museum in the Orkney Islands in the far north of Scotland. The owner of the museum died in 1990 and his estate was sold by Bonhams in Edinburgh. This item is from that museum collection. This is an exquisitely painted jug. It is beautifully painted in famille rose colours with mandarin figures, original gilding, and dates from the mid 1700's. The figures are wearing fur hats and coats, playing with children, t is a crane like bird and a white dog with a gold collar. It measures 4 inches tall (10.3cm). Condition is very good. No damage. Loss of gilding on handle and no lid! Insured Airmail to China and USA is $24, UK postage is £3
