In stunning condition, this is a very elaborate decorative mantle clock with matching shelf. It is a time and strike, Swiss made, face has "Comtesse" written below the XII. Movement indicates manufacture date of 1983..I have been advised by the local clock store folks that the metal trim on the case is actually gold plated. Note the windows on the side, hand painted floral decor...the basic case seems to be made of a composite material. The chime is a soft "ding"...works perfectly. As you can see, I removed the pendulum and key for transport and left them out for photos. Substantially heavy. Included is a corbel wall shelf made for the clock...measures 9 1/4" w x 4" deep..face is perfect, top has had tape add to it and removed some of the finish when it was removed...most probably would not be seen once the shelf is in place with the clock on it.
