Extremely rare Johnny CochraneAUTOGRAPH Sunderland Manager 1936 + 1937 SAFC This is an extremely rare autograph of the Sunderland manager from 1928 to 193 9 and consequently is highly sort after. Cochrane is arguably Sunderland's most successful manager ever as , under his leadership, the club won the League Championship in 1936 and then the F A Cup in 1937. During the 1930's Sunderland were one of the best teams in the 1st Division. Through the years I have managed to get the autographs of all of the 1936/37 teams, however the Cochrane autograph proved elusiv e. When it finally turned up it came with a further two Cochrane autographs. This one is surplus to requirements (I'm keeping the other two!).As for authenticity...could it be better? The Johnny Cochrane autograph is on an official SAFC 'Notice of Dividends' for the year ending 5th May, 1928 . The size of the item is 8" wide x 7" high. T he bottom of the page has a perforation and the lower section torn off . I assume that the part torn off was for a cheque for the payment detailed above. A fantastic piece! .
