The Family Herbalby Sir John Hillwith 54 coloured platesHardbackBungay: printed and published by C Brightley and T KinnersleyThis book has been in my family for many yearsI have no idea how old the book is, but on the preface pagethere is a handwritten name with the date 1860 The book is in good condition for its age, apart from the frontcover, which has become detached from the spine Having counted the plates several times I have counted 53No pages appear to have been removed or missing, soI'm not sure why there appears to be 53 compared with the54 of the title page.A few of the pages have minor damage, very small tears orcreases/bent page corners.Page 33 is rough at the bottom edge.There are pencil marks where the owner looks to have made noteson some pages.The pages bear evidence of age browning and handling, including the plate pagesThere are 376 pages, not including the plate pages.The book has a musty smell.I accept Paypal and cheque, and post on Thursdays and Saturdays
