Striking Japanese cloisonné vase form the Meiji drain round form with the design of an eagle perched int he branch of a white flowering tree. The design is rendered in thick and thin silver wire and the detailing on the eagle's feathers is fantastic. The colors are fantastic! This is the most brightly colored raptor I have ever seen on Japanese cloisonné. The colors on the eagle are many shades of blue and pinks and yellow - among others. The vase is 6" tall. Unsigned but the previous owner attributed it to Goto Seizaburo. Perhaps. Condition is excellent. There is a tiny nick on the back/side shoulder but almost impossible to see. Low Reserve!
