WELCOME CARNIVAL GLASS COLLECTORS! Item Description: This is a beautiful, old Fenton DORSEY AND FUNKENSTEIN FINE FURNITURE Ice Cream Shape Advertising Bowl in Amethyst with gorgeous Multi-color iridesence. It is an old vintage piece, not marked in any way. It is a VERY RARE advertising piece. David Doty says in his 1998 Field Guide that these pieces "are quite difficult to find". It is 5 inches wide and 1 3/4 inches tall . The only piece he has a price for are the handgrip plates of this pattern and they were going for $2000 - $2500 back in 1998 per David Doty's Updated Field Guide to Carnival Glass. Based on this information, this is an opportunity to own one of these very rare pieces that doesn't come around often! It is striking on display...a real beauty. If you love the rare pieces, this is a golden opportunity. I have included several photos of the piece so you can see for yourself. I guarantee this is authentic, early 1900's vintage Carnival Glass! All pictures were taken outside in natural light...no flash. I never enhance photos. What you see is what you get. I do not use reserves, never have, I believe the buyers should set the value, so bid with confindence and have fun...it will sell to the high bidder. Item Condition: This bowl is in really nice conditon! No chips, cracks, or repairs! T are a few scattered manufacturing stretch marks. Nothing that distracts from this gorgeous bowl at all. The base is clean and shows very minimal shelf wear. You must really, really stretch to see anything at all. T are a couple of tiny manufacturing bubbles also. Again...scattered and nothing abnormal at all. All are enclosed and you must hold the piece up to the light to see them. Lastly t are a couple of very small flea-bites on the interior of the bowl. They are pictured. One is the size of the end of a pen, the other is much smaller. Neither detract from a piece of this magnitude. They are only seen upon close inspection and do not harm the display quality of this very rare piece. That is all I can find on this gorgeous bowl. I've looked it over hard. I'm being very picky. I collect Carnival Glass myself and I'm picky with my descriptions, like I like others to be when I'm buying so you know what you are getting. None of these take away from this awesome, very rare bowl . Its an awesome example and an opportunity to own a truly rare piece that won't come around again for a long time! This is the first one I have ever seen and I imagine its the same with most collectors out t You will have a hard time ever finding another one if you drove the tires right off of your car.
