One of the most popular carnival glass patterns Is Fentons Orange Tree . This piece is unique to that pattern. Not every collector will get to own one of these. T are not enough to go around. It is the loving cup or shaving mug. It is a scant 6" tall and 6" across the handles. This piece has excellent marigold color. The inside is done in an upside down drapery pattern. The heavy carnival coating flashes beautiful reds, golds and greens. T are no chips or cracks. Carnival Glass is made by fuming or spraying hot pressed glass with metallic oxides. This forms an irridescent coating on the surface of the glass that reflects the colors of the rainbow. It is similar to the effect of oil on a puddle of water. Photographs can't totally reproduce the effect of light hitting the glass. As a longtime Antique Dealer I have collected a lot of glass.
