Very fine quality, antique, American, flame mahogany, Classical bookcase hutch secretary, circa 1830 , investment quality. One of the finest quality, Classical, antique, American bookcase secretarys, circa 1830, I have seen in a long time! The top has a reverse ogee cornice, below which are two ogee shaped framed doors, the top of the doors have the original mirrors, the bottom of the doors have the original glass, the doors enclose a fitted interior of bookshelves pigeon holes and folio holes and two flame birch drawers. Below the doors are a pair of short drawers, below which is the fold out writing surface which is supported by a pair of pull out lopers, the base has one ogee shaped drawer and two graduated drawers, the bookacse terminates onto scrolled feet. This bookcase desk is completely original, down to the pulls and the finish, no damage or repair, dimensions are; 75" high x 40" wide x 29" deep when writing surface is down x 20" deep when closed.
