Very rare, very wonderful! This is a Davenport toy cup and saucer in the Nankin pattern. The transfer is a rich black, with added highlights in a deep burnt orange on the flower petals, and gold accents. The saucer is marked with the impressed Davenport anchor, and an early mark that I have no idea how to describe. The pattern name, Nankin, is above the mark, and Davenport is below it. T is a hand painted burnt orange mark "53," with some other details with it. The cup has the burnt orange numbers 853 and some other smaller marks below. The cup has a short hairline 1/4 inch long, which is almost impossible to see. The saucer has a longer, more noticable hairline running about 1 1/2 inches long. The saucer measures 4 1/2 inches across and stands less than 1 inch off the ground. The cup measures 1 3/4 inches tall, and is 3 inches from rim to handle. This is a really great cup and saucer!
