"FAIRFAX"(line# 2375) was manufactured by FOSTORIA GLASS of Moundsville, W. Virginia, from the 1920's-1970's. The "HEADDRESS II" etch/gold encrustation was applied by WHEELING DECORATING of Wheeling, W. Virginia during this same period. we have a TERRIFIC FIND of the Fostoria Fairfax(#2375) 8 1/2" PINK pickle tray with the SCARCE Wheeling Decorating "HEADDRESS II" decoration. It is in Excellent Condition without any cracks, chips, nicks or stains, and, appears to have had little use; gold is substantally intact with only minor wear on the top rim. Webster's book(see references below) states that this Headdress II decoration has "SCARCE AVAILABILITY". REF: LONG&SEATE'S Fostoria Tableware 1924-1943(1999), Farfax line is depicted on pp. 53-56; WEBSTER'S Wheeling Decorating(2003), the "Headdress II" etch/gold encrustation on various pieces of glassware is pictured on pg. 130. As we get on in years, we have ceased our stamp collecting activities, and now, we will be liquidating over 300 pieces of antique glassware that we have accumulated over the past five years.
