This is a group of four pure .999 fine silver .1 troy ounce trade units. The design of the obverse is the one engraved by Adolph A. Weinman, and used for the Liberty Walking Half Dollars, made by The U.S. Mint from 1916 through 1947, considered by many to be the most beautiful coins ever made by The Mint. Weinman studied under the famous Augustus Saint-Gaudens, then opened his own studio in New York in 1904. His Liberty Walking design was resurrected in 1986 for the silver eagle .999 silver bullion one dollar (one troy ounce) coins, which continue to be produced to the present day. Weinman was a member of the National Sculpture Society, and served as president from 1927 through 1930. Weinman also designed and engraved the dies used to produce the "Mercury" dimes. These pure silver trade units will be extremely valuable if our financial system struggles and/or falters, and silver becomes a favored method of commerce. The fact that they are pure silver, and also a multiple of a fraction of a troy ounce makes them more usable that the pre-1965 U.S. silver coins, which were only 90% silver and are an odd weight and difficult to calculate their silver content. We have photographed these coins well, and we have listed this item with the E-Bay feature that allows youto view magnification of photographs and enlargements of photographs so read more
