Four Old Mortise / Marking Gauges; Stanley 73s, 74 Early Boxwood, One Disc PlateClick images to enlargeDescriptionThis is a group of early marking / mortise gages in various conditions. Some for parts maybe. Three of them are by Stanley, including two creamy boxwood No. 73s. One bears the mark used in the 19-teens. The other is earlier, before make and model marks were generally used by Stanley on gages. One has the point gone from the brass slider. The other slide seems very tight and needs to be pulled out and eased or waxed. Both have gibs, and barrel screws for securing the slide setting. The other Stanley is a No. 74 double slide made under father Traut's 1862 patent. That patent info is on the gage but is extremely faint. This tool is pretty much a placeholder example. One of the thumbscrews will not firmly fix the shaft as an internal disc is missing. The fourth, an early and nice usable marking gage of unknown wood has disc plating. It is very much like plating on early Stanley models; however, the scale does not match Stanley's consistent patterns of graduation or numerals.USPS Priority Mail; U.S. addresses only.Condition: Used Payment Paypal Shipping Domestic shipping: Weight based Shipping Charges.Domestic Carriers are: Usps Priority I will ship to: United States Weight: 1 lbs. 12 oz.
