Framus archtop guitar / mandola conversion An unfinished project (see below)A plywood archtop guitar with a beautiful birds-eye maple veneered back. I'm sorry, I have no idea of the model. Originally red; the finish has been stripped and the instrument lightly re-coated with a light French polish.The headstock has been reshaped and finished with a veneer and decorative banding down the centre, to take mandolin machine heads.The fingerboard is rosewood. At the zero fret a part of the end of the fingerboard is missing, to the depth of the fret slot. EDIT: sorry, should have said that the zero fret and the nut are missing. A mandolin tailpiece has been fitted. There is no bridge to go with the instrument. The big problem is that the heel of the neck has split and needs a guitar specialist to either repair it or fit a new neck. Photos of detailed areas available on request. I am a violin repairer; this project was put to one side because it was distracting me from my day to day work. It is one of three 'loft clearance instruments' which I am hoping to find homes for, please see my other items. I am trying to declutter because I have become disabled and am no longer able to contemplate sorting out these instruments myself.
