Circa 1860s-70s since it predates the partnership with his son. Pictures don't show how whittled this little beauty is!This was once in the collection of one of the most wonderfully knowledgeable East Coast dealers ever, who is no longer with us. Always the gentleman, he saw the value in this little gem. For at least a year and a half we saw each other at various National shows, and we negotiated but never arrived at a price and he held on to it only to set it out at the next show, where we would run into each other again. Finally after it became a joke, he finally conceded to sell it at the right price!)
