Franklin Mint The Medallic History Of The American Indian This is a complete set of 50 .925 Sterling Silver medals. Each proof medal is encased and housed in a very attractive album with Certificate of Authenticity and all information cards. Average weight of each medal is approx. 31.7 grams. Issued 1975-1979, less than 2300 sets were minted, making this perhaps the hardest of the Indian sets to find. Each medal tells two tales. One side a 'Traditional View' and the other the 'Indian Interpretation'. Also each medal is accompanied by two info cards, one telling the story for each side. From Columbus to Lewis and Clark, The Battle of Little Big Horn to Indians in World War II, and many, many more, the story of the American Indians unfolds beautifully in this collection. *This listing replaces the previous one. T was some question as to the accuracy of using a postal scale. The weights stated are from using a jewelers scale. All medals were handled with white jewelers gloves. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. The Indian medal collections are some of the hardest to find of all the Franklin Mint sets. Please check our other listings for Great American Indian Chiefs (35 of 36 medals-.925 Sterling Silver), and Indian Tribal Nations (series of 10 medals-.999 Fine Silver).
