Not the easiest thing to photograph. Needed to differentiate the red calcite from the orange turneaureite. This is from the noted "New Find" of Franklin turneaureite from about 10 years ago. I cannot 100% guarantee that this is turneaureite, however, it was XRD'd and the resulting composition formula matches what Earl Verbeek listed as the formula of components in his chapter of "Understanding Fluorescent Minerals" {I sell this book, signed by Earl and Dick Bostwick on Amazon}.I also consulted with Dick Bostwick this past weekend he says that what "most likely" makes this turneaureite is the brightness of it. Turneaureite is far brighter orange than all of the other known apatites from here. This unquestionably fits that. Also includes both minor hardystonite as well as willemite which the classic turneaureite found in the salmon calcite matrix does not.Measures 2.5" x 2.0" x 1.75" and weighs 4 ounces. Very good coverage for a specimen this size. My reserve price guarantees I don't lose money on this.
