Don't miss this chance to own this incredible piece of history, a limited edition copy of the Democratic Book, No. 1717 of unstated 2,500 copies. These books were sold for $250 to donors and this book was the personal copy of beer magnate August Busch Jr., whose name is etched onto the front cover. In addition to being owned by the famed Busch, this book is also notable for being in much better condition than these copies are normally found. This copy is in very good condition, is solid and well bound with just very light wear to the covers. Most copies of this full-leather book are usually very worn, this one is not. Inside it is also very good, with toning to the inside of the covers and a couple of minor spots of foxing on the first couple of pages. The signed page has a small crease that can be seen at certain angles but it not near the etching of the White House or Roosevelt's signature and is so light it is not visible at all at certain angles. The tips of a couple of middle pages are slightly bent. It's very unlikely you will see a nicer copy of this 14 inch book that weighs seven pounds. And the Busch aspect makes it that much better. At a very nice starting price (about half of the cheapest on dealer sites).
