Made between 1870 and 1900 , by Franz Anton Mehlem for Royal Bonn, this exquisite Victorian style umbrella stand is one of a kind! It is hand-crafted, with intricate pink , yellow and blue floral designs and lavendar bows on a white porcelain background. T is a beautiful green grid-type motif around the bottom of the piece. The top is rimmed in gold leaf , and the top third of the stand is inlaid with 22 karat gold leaf work , in a floral and dotted pattern, raised from the porcelian intself. It is quite a delicate, unique, and elegant piece! The piece stands at 22 inches tall, and is 28 inches in diameter. The stand weighs about 35 lbs . The bottom is hand-signed and numbered , with the official stamp of Franz Anton Mehlem (a backwards F and an M) and Royal Bonn and t are several hand-written numbers in different color paint near the edge of the bottom of the stand *see photo. The original hand-written price tags still remain on the inside and on the bottom of the stand, which is very rare. They are ornate victorian price tags and add to the intrigue and history of this beautiful piece! T is a hairline crack on the bottom of the stand as shown in the photo, that runs about 5 inches, but the rest of the piece is in pristine condition, showing only a little ware for having been made over 100 years ago.
