10 (26 cm.) Bisque swivel head with rounded facial modeling, on kid-edged bisque shoulder-plate, almond shaped blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered arched brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line on pale lips, blonde lambswool wig over cork pate, Bru brevete kid bebe body with square cut collarette, gusset-jointing, bisque forearms. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 5/0 (head and shoulder). Comments: probably Leon Casimir Bru, his first bebe known as Bebe Brevete, although the facial model varies somewhat, circa 1878. Value Points: enchanting early bebe with appealing shy expression, sturdy body, original wig and costume including silk dress, undergarments, bonnet, knit stockings, and leather shoes signed D in script letter inside circle.
