FROSTY SNOWMAN Rankin Bass retro plush Gemmy singing doll 1999 Christmas This is a previously-owned, medium-sized FROSTY THE SNOWMAN plush toy that measures approximately 11� inches tall. It was manufactured by Gemmy Industries in 1999 of polyester fibers and runs on batteries (not included). Frosty the Snowman is an American animated TV special based on the popular song of the same title. The program, which first aired on December 7, 1969, was produced for television by Rankin/Bass and featured the voices of comedians Jimmy Durante as narrator and Jackie Vernon as the titular character. It marked the first use of traditional cel animation (as opposed to stop-motion animation) for Rankin/Bass in a Christmas special.
