RB 2914; Wears Improved. Clear glass machine-made oval pint fruit jar with clear glass lid; smooth lip; 5.3 inches tall. Straddle-lip top seal with glass lid held in place by twin-wire toggle clamps on jar sides, toggle clamps affixed to jar neck with tie wire. Side embossed “WEARS” on a stippled draped banner below a crown with “IMPROVED” embossed on jar neck. Base embossed “SMALLEY KIVLAN & ONTHANK” and “BOSTON, MASS. PAT’D FEB 23 09” around an “I” in a diamond. Glass lid embossed “PAT’D FEB 23-09” on a ribbon and “KANT KRACK” on a medallion. NOTE: Jar is in very good condition with no flaws, chips or dings to body, finish or smooth lip; short surface scratch in face of glass lid; minor rusting to toggle clamps. Manufactured by Illinois Glass Co., Alton, IL, circa 1910-1920. POSTAGE PAID IN EXCESS OF ACTUAL PACKING AND SHIPPING COSTS WILL BE REFUNDED.
