Hi, Folks! I really want to sell this book to someone who can appreciate the history of this small town, so I am lowering the price even more! Otherwise this book goes to the local thrift store where it will sit for ages! Garretson, South Dakota Centennial Book Celebrating a Century, 1889-1989 A project of the Garretson Area Historical Society This book belonged to my parents who were from Garretson, South Dakota. They went to the Centennial celebration and my sister bought this book for them. It is a wonderful compilation of information about Garretson, the businesses there, agriculture through the years, the churches, the school, community organizations and family histories. This book would be wonderful for anyone doing genealogy! The book is in excellent condition and looks like it has never been read. There is also a pamphlet included that is all about Garretson and has a map and various pictures of local sights. Garretson is home to Devil's Gulch , the site where Jesse James escaped a posse after robbing the First National Bank in Northfield, Minnesota . Palisades State Park is also near Garretson.
