The consignor of this group of N gauge items lived in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. If you followed the national weather news you know that t was severe floodingIN 2008 when the Cedar River escaped its banks. In one news story, the following statement summed up the situation. "In Cedar Rapids , a city of about 124,000, floodwaters downtown neared the top of stop signs, and cars were nearly covered in water. It wasn't clear just how high the river had risen, because a flood gauge was swept away by the swirling water." The consignors home, and business, were both flooded. Because of the flooding, all of the train items we are offering were wet, and then were dried out, washed with bleach, and dried again. As a result, t is a bit of surface rust on the wheels. They are offered "as is" and you'll have a bit of a story to go with your purchase, as well as the knowledge that the sale of these will go to help the consignor overcome the flood.We try to be very accurate in our descriptions, but all antiques and collectibles are sold "as is".
