145 Grassy Plain St. Bethel, CT 06801 Gearbox - USS Indianapolis CA-35 1:700 Scale Die Cast Here we have the U.S.S. Indianapolis CA-35 Military Classics Die Cast Model by Gearbox Toys. The fate of the Indianapolis is a chilling tale of terror. The Indianapolis had just delivered vital atomic bomb components for the first A-bomb attack on Japan when she was hit by two Japanese torpedoes on the 30th of July 1945. She sank in less than 15 minutes -- 300 men went down with her while 900 men went unsearched for for days without food or water in the shark infested Pacific. Only 316 sailors survived the disaster. This die cast metal and plastic model is in very nice condition. The ship shows no display wear or flaws. The original box is also in nice condition with barely visible shelfware. The plastic window does has a tear.
