Mark Wayne Clark [1896 1984] was an American general during world war II and the korean war who became the youngest lieutenant general in the U.S Army. During world war II he was the Allied Commander in Italy and also commanded the Fifth U.S Army, 15th Army Group and the United Nations Command during the Korean War. He was later appointed President of the Citadel were he served until his death in 1984. Listed for auction is a war dated letter signed by general Mark W. Clark. The letter is typed on the letterhead of Headquarters United States Forces In Austria, Office of the Commanding General and dated 29 August 1945. The letter is a response to a autograph request and is nicely signed ''Mark W. Clark'' in black fountain pen above his typed name and rank. The letter measures 6.50 x 8.00 inches and has some trivial tonning and wear otherwise it is in good condition. We have listed a nice collection of world war II military commanders.
