This SERIES 2 note was created by the ACT OF FEBRUARY 17, 1864. It is a PLEN E note. It was signed by two ladies of the Confederacy; (Miss S.J.) S.J.ADAMS (for the Treasurer) and (Miss H.C.) H.C. THOMAS (for the Register). It was then assigned the Serial No. 39885 from the pre-designated block 39701-40000. This was a system to help curb counterfeiting. This is a very nicely colored note with two tiny holes near the center and still maintains its crispiness. It is sometimes referred to as the "LINCOLN NOTE" as it is rumored that Mr. Lincoln had one in his wallet at the time of the assassination. The center represents the Capitol in Richmond with C.G. Memminger, Sec. of the Treasury in the right corner. It come in a new plastic holder......
