This is a geniune 1958 Belgian 50 Franc coin that has been gold plated and placed in a rope bezel pendant/pin holder. The coin is in very good condition, with some minor discoloration on the back of the coin. The bale is large and will accomadate a large chain and the pin is a classic circular spin closing pin. This piece of jewelry is a family item that was made in the 1960-1970's most likely by a small Belgian jeweler as my family collected coins and travelled to Belgium on a regular basis where all my Mother's jewelry was purchased. I am sure that they had this made specially from a coin they gave the jeweler.
