George III Style Inlaid Mahogany Carlton House Desk - Mid-20th Century Please note, in 1993 this piece was evaluated and assessed for fair market value by Sotheby's. It is described as "a D-shaped superstructure with three-quarter gallery, incorporating small drawers and cupboards, with gold-tooled green leather writing surface above two frieze drawers and square tapered legs ending in boxed toes". The height is 37 inches, the length is 43 inches. This auction also includes the button-striped velvet upholstered curule stool. This piece is BEAUTIFUL. T is a very small (less than on inch) missing piece of the veneer which broke off. Please see the picture above. We reside in Morris County, NJ (about one hour from NYC). This item is for local pick-up only. The desk is currently in Westchester County at the Estate we are liquidating. It could be picked up from either location.
