Here is an unusual 1890's German art pottery beer stein with a figural monkey handle, and figural monkey with baby finial. It is embossed with monkeys, bears, bear cubs, cats, and trees, and has a scroll with writing on one side. Two monkeys are drinking from steins, one is eating a fish. It has a lustre band at the bottom and top.The stein measures approximately 9" tall to top of finial, and 3 7/8" across the bottom. The pewter lid has some "play" to it, which in my experience is very normal. The stein is in excellent condition with only some light wear and light crazing.
