German WW2 Jewish HOLOCAUST Ghetto armband with ZIDOV worn in Yugoslavia by Jews This armband was worn by people of Jewish. ZIDOV on armband means Jews. The German regimes in the occupied countries of Europe force Jews to wear an identifying mark under the threat of death. In German it was JUDE, in Holland JOOD , in France JUIF , in Belgium letter J , in Yugoslavia letter Z or word ZIDOV .Starting late 1941 Germany began their plan to destroy all the Jews in Europe. The Germans gradually eliminated most of the ghettos. They either shot the prisoners and buried them in mass graves dug nearby, or sent by train to death camps.
