This top quality machinist tool chest is a hard to find walnut chest with 10 drawers and the top storage area. It has the pre-1940's style, with a very nice finish overall. I have two keys for the lock, included. The handles have been replaced over the years, the lower shelves have machine turned metal handles and the top seem to be bakalite material, all are tight and work just fine. The condition of the chest is very good with the original leather handle, mirror, and most of the green felt intact. The leather handle is still solid with some wear, looks good, the mirror is good, no cracks, the felt is worn and dirty from shop tools, some drawers worse than others. The hardware is in nice shape the latches all work, there is no cracks in the wood, the hinges work fine, the finish is darkened, and the patina looks great, nicely cared for. Like any tool chest that was actually used in the workshop, this one has is small dings and scratches, it's not a new one. The chest does have the H. Gerstner & Sons stamp on the bottom inside under the bottom drawer, and a label on the bottom drawer. The latches are all marked Gerstner Dayton O.. There is a older repair on the inside hinge area of the front panel it's holding fine, sturdy no problems, but can be seen under close inspection (show in one of the pictures). There is one other area show read more
