The GI Joe salesman sample cloth ammo belt was not mass produced for sale when GI Joe was first released. Due to the amount of work it took to produce, Hasbro decided to make a plastic version to replace it. I have spent much time and research to reproduce a convincing replica of this hard to find "rare" collectors item. I can attest to the amount of work and craftsmanship it took to make these pieces. Made from original era material. This sale consists of (2) custom crafted cloth pouches, an original belt as well as original Hasbro cloth first aid pouch (this also went the way of plastic not long after it was introduced). I have only recently been fortunate to acquire an original single ammo pouch for my own collection which is used for quality comparison to my reproduced pieces *(last 2 photos show original at top compared to new piece on bottom in a small case and are NOT part of this sale )* . If not for the tarnished and oxidized rivets, it is hard to determine original from new. Another recent salesman's sample belt sold for close to $1,400.00.This belt comes in a nice display case or maybe you want to display on your Joe.
