A small sculptural Gibeon iron meteorite from Africa Description: A complete sculptural individual Weight: 4.4 grams Class: Iron meteorite, fine octahedrite, type IVA Approximate dimensions: 32 mm x 9 mm x 5 mm Date and location of original find: Hardap, Namibia. 1836 Notes: In as-found condition with yellow/ochre patina The Gibeon iron meteorite, from the Namib Desert, has long been a favorite of collectors because of its sculpted appearance, stability, attractive etch pattern, and lovely, rich desert patina.
