A stunning pair of geometric modernist styled art deco cast pot metal bookends in guaranteed original faded gilded bronze finish that has a few scratches and some discoloration but has original antique patina. These are in good condition, made of spelter cast metal and having that regal specialized geometric styled look and attitude. These date back to the height of art deco, the 1920's through the 1930's and reflect the popularity of egyptian revival theses of that time. . These are art deco at it's best, egyptian revival style, circa 1925, and guaranteed old, genuine and original. These measure a tall 8 inches long and weigh under 4 pounds the pair. No damage and finish loss, mostly on one, not the other, makes sense since one is usually always more exposed to sunlight in decades of use. Frankart, Bronzart, Nuart and Quoizel all made these and they are unsigned. The cats have that very superior, looking down their nose cat air and are just so long and elegant. The use of the egyptian cat is clever since it sets off the sharp geometric angles of the deco period perfectly.
