Gio Ponti for Richard Ginori "The Lion Tamer" with Circus Decoration. Italy Circa 1928 An early design by Gio Ponti "the lion tamer". Marked "Richard Ginori, Made in Italy", "Pittoria di Doccia" 28-4. Shows almost no wear. 23.5cm Wide GiÚ Ponti was the teacher of an entire designer generation Sottsass, Fornasetti and others. Art director of Ginori he also worked with Venini, Piero Fornasetti, Del Campo, Cassina, Doccia, Christofle, Fontana Arte and a host of others.
