Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a STUNNING Thomas Webb glossy Peachblow cased Art Glass vase with Jules Barbe enameled design, c. 1885-1900. This lovely Peachblow vase shades from a dark wine red (mahogany) at the top to a pink-coral color at the base and is complimented by its creamy white opaque cased glass interior and glossy outer finish. The base is factory ground with a polished pontil. Beautifully enameled with unusual floral design with thick application of gilding. M easures 4 1/2" high with a 2 5//8" top diameter, a maximum width of 4" and base diameter of 2". Originally introduced by Thomas Webb in 1885 and named "Peach Glass" being a cased glass with creamy white interior. The glass became known as "peachblow" glass due to its unusual coloration. This enameled design is shown on an example on page 24 of the book "Peachblow Glass" by Sean & Johanna S. Billings under the category of Webb Peachblow. This gorgeous vase is in excellent condition with no noted chips, cracks or repairs.
