Gorgeous Vintage Silk KIMONO Crane Bamboo Pine Wedding Uchikake BrocadeDescriptionI'm going to be listing quite a bit of antique clothing and textiles this week. Please ask any questions and double check measurements before bidding. Some of these items have been stored in a camphor chest and thus have a little bit of vicks vap-o-rub sort of smell.This listing is for a vintage silk Japanese kimono. It's not all that old, I've had it myself about 30 years and it's probably not a lot older than that. I lived in Hawaii in the early 80's and there were 2 kimono shops on Oahu at that time. No idea if they're still there. But I spent a lot of time looking over all the kimonos. I just think they're about the most beautiful articles of clothing out there.This is actually an absolutely gorgeous item of clothing. It's a heavy brocade fabricI bought it to hang on my wall and then just never hung it on my wall. I would say this has the same amount of wear as a wedding dress worn carefully for a day then stored away. There are some thread pulls to some of the brocade. (The longer threads in the designs) There may be a few more that I overlooked, but all in all this is in beautiful shape. But it is a vintage item so don't expect it to look brand new.Very heavy with wadded stuffed hem. The design is of cranes, bamboo and pine and all mean good luck
