Northern Goshawk Signed Limited Edition Print of a Watercolour Bird Painting by British Wildlife Artist Steve Greaves A Museum Quality Reproduction of a Northern Goshawk (Accipiter gentilis) From an Original Watercolour Painting Professionally Printed High Quality & Highly Detailed Giclee Art Print Brand New, Wrapped in Cellophane for Protection Image Size 8" x 10" ( 200mm x 255mm) Actual Paper Size 10" x 12" ( 255mm x 300mm) Limited to only 500 copies worldwide This auction is for print number: 27 Signed and Numbered by the Artist in the white margin in pencil Printed on 308gm German Hahnemuhle 100% rag heavy watercolour paper The young bird is wearing leather jesses and a bell and sits on a falconer's bow perch. The original artwork is 12" x 14" and was painted onto Frisk CS10 Illustration board when the artist was a 20 year old art student in 1983 in South Wales. Paint was applied quite thinly allowing the board to show through in the lighter areas. No white paint was used in the painting. The hawk belonged to Dr. Nick Fox who was one of the artist's art college lecturers and a renown falconry and hawking expert.
