STREPERA GRACULINA The PIED CROW SHRIKE from John Gould's Birds of Australia (1843), plus the original text page. CONDITION: Very Good hand-coloured original print. Never framed or displayed. Neatly removed full plate (14.5" x 21" approx.) that has been very well preserved for over 160 years such that it is fresh and bright and shows almost no signs of age. POSTAGE & PACKING: If you buy several prints from me then I will only charge postage on one item and discount the rest. Postage is Signed For but I try to be as reasonable as possible. I have sent many Gould prints to the USA, Japan and Australia without any complaint, so please bid freely. Prints can be sent flat; or rolled in a sturdy tube. I have a professional knowledge of Goulds Australian birds as I have dealt with them over the last thirty odd years. The Aussie dollar is currently very strong against the GB pound so I have kept an eye out for quality Goulds birds coming up for sale in the UK. Provenance-wise these prints were bought recently from a reputable UK auction-house, in two lots. They are 100% original and in very good condition. In UK terms they were not cheap and I would make a loss selling at my starting prices only. Australian birds do not come up too often and、not surprisingly, the Australian birds are of less interest to th UK buyer than to the Aussie buyer. read more
