This is a wonderful Grand Army of the Republic Representative medal from the 51st National Encampment held in Boston Mass August 1917. The medal is approximately 6" in height and 1 1/2" across. The bottom section of the medal shows Commander-in-Chief William J. Patterson - the reverse side is inscribed "51ST NATIONAL ENCAMPMENT G.A.R. AUG, 1917 BOSTON, MASS". The enamelling on the American flag and GAR is in excellent condition and the colors are really brilliant. This is a great piece!
