Gray metal with bronzed trophy-like finish steer bookends (Made of ceramic) Height 6 inches wt. 2 lb. 2 3/8 oz. (Each) Marked Dodge Western motif. circa 1950 . In the nineteen thirties and forties there were three prominent companies that primarily made trophies: Dodge, Champion and Trophy Craft; Dodge being the largest. These companies made a variety of small objects for the home, including ash trays and bookends. Nowadays we find their bookends in antique shops and online. In our experience, Dodge bookends are most frequently found, and Champion and Trophy Craft are uncommon. All of these bookends were apparently made from gray metal, and with bronze-like finishes that suggest trophies. The finishes were not very durable, judging from the damaged bookends we frequently see today.theses bookends have no cracks chips or repairs.
