Trojan Horse Bookends Trophy Craft c.1930Up for auction are these beautiful original Art Deco machine age style "Trojan Horse" bookends manufactured by the Trophy Craft Company based in Los Angeles. These are a rare find! They have been glued in one spot from a previous break which shows on the back. These have their natural patina, I have not polished them.During the 1930's there was competition between trophy makers Dodge, Trophy Craft and Champion. Each company produced works that were very similar in idea or style. However, it unknown who copied whom, but it is clear that both Dodge and Trophy Craft produced some of the finest metal-ware in the form of trophies, bookends, and ashtrays during the period. These vintage bookends measure 7 x 4 1/2 x 3 1/4 inches and are priced for the pair.
